There is widely spread advice that suggests individuals “niche down” and specialize in a single area to achieve success.

However, in my experience, this advice can be limited in its perspective. When we limit our focus to a particular field or topic, we risk developing tunnel vision and fail to recognize the potential benefits of a broader range of knowledge. Therefore, it is often beneficial to expand our focus and acquire a wider range of skills and knowledge to build a stronger foundation.

This broader perspective can help us better understand the world around us and increase our adaptability in various situations.

Strive to become a polymath

Throughout history, there have been numerous individuals who have pursued diverse interests and excelled in multiple fields.

This approach to learning and problem-solving is often referred to as being a "polymath" or a "renaissance man."
